Labor Day Walking Challenge

Calling all the dedicated walkers on the site and inviting everyone who wants to use walking as a great and gentle fat-burning exercise.

Let’s challenge ourselves by walking 4 miles a day or an hour a day (maybe using interval walking) until the Labor Day weekend.

There will be a new thread on the weight loss forum with the rules.

You may want to sign up and tell us what you use to count miles: a pedometer, treadmill, time, track in your neighborhood, etc).

There will be weekend challenges but no competition.

Who wants to shrink belly? Strengthen legs? Improve core?

Who has limitations that don’t allow running or other exercises that are hard on knees, ankles, and hips?

Then walking is for you. Simple yet so powerful in weight loss.

See you all on the walking challenge thread,

Tatiana

Great challenge Tatiana. I lost my first 40 lbs walking it off. :)

4 miles is a lot. I would love to join, but I’m so busy with kickboxing, weightlifting and yoga that I may not have time to get 4 miles in.
Maybe I can do 2 miles?

I think that you can start with 2 miles and maybe build more miles as you go.

Great! That’s what I’ll do. I think I can squeeze in 1 mile in the morning before my kickboxing class and one mile in the afternoon after yoga.

I’ll look for the thread and join.

Thanks for the warm welcome my friend. I see you’re still motivating people to get their body moving. You will be happy to know that among the many goals I have for my new life in Canaehda is a more active lifestyle. This place is beautiful so I need to get out more. Eventually I would like to take up running again, but for now, I want to concentrate on biking…be it as it may, since we are so close now, perhaps we can meet one of these days! ALSO, I read in another buddy’s blog that you had gotten hurt? Hope you’re doing better my friend. Now, in answer to your question, the weather here has been dreamy, although I have been told not to get used to it, that these guys have had a great Summer and to not come to expect it!! I guess I will just enjoy it for now, eh?
